law school...coming along...

i can't believe i've been in law school for six weeks, and that i've been living in saint louis for two months already.

this time is going by so fast. i'm already worrying about outlining courses, and i have a midterm coming up in a couple weeks. (of course, worrying about outlining, and actually starting my course outlines, are two different things.) we had a sample final exam question that we hashed out today in my property class.

all of this is better than barcoding books and waiting tables, but there is a new set of problems. see, no matter what i did at those jobs, i got paid. in law school, there's the curve...and that means i have to beat out large swaths of my classmates in order to get a good grade. the fact that they don't publish ranks below the top third doesn't comfort me at all...i don't want to be Just Outside The Top Third (yes, that's a catch phrase here). i want to be right up top, although i know for sure there is no way that is going to happen.

despite all the stress of school, i do enjoy being here. i really love living right down the street from my boyfriend, as opposed to living five hours away. i say right down the street...but he stays at my place all the time anyway, i swear we may as well be living together, except for the fact that he keeps his stuff at his place, and pays rent on his place. he does all his sitting around and hanging out and watching TV at my place...which makes me happy, because i'd feel like it was such a waste if i was being lazy in one place, and he was being lazy in another.

WHERE IS EVERYONE?? COME BACK!!!!

well, kids, i'm back from punta cana. go here for pictures!!! i have a few more to add later. i had a fabulous time. i went snorkeling with sharks, parasailed, held starfish, slept on the beach, got my hair braided. . . LOVED IT!! go on an all-inclusive!! i'm telling you--it's the most relaxing place i've ever gone. you don't have to worry about paying for food or drinks or driving anywhere. if you go anywhere, they take you. i got my cheap vacation at www.travelbyjen.com . check them out the next time you're ready for a vacation. i will never go on another vacation that is not all-inclusive.

in other news, i'm working hard on rocky. i think i may also end up being the choreographer for the show as well, since ours never shows up. this would be wonderful, except i severely hurt my left ankle the night before we left the resort. yea.

for the end of rocky, we're doing an s&m theme and here are the pants i bought. i'm bidding on this shirt to go with them. what do you think?

now, please, tell me what's going on with all of you!!

Update...

Hey girls! Sorry I haven't been around in a while. I've been pretty busy with work and school.
I LOVE my new job, though! It's so awesome to finally have a job that I'm excited about. All of the therapists are really cool, and I get to spend a lot of time with the patients. Much of the job is clerical; I do a lot of filing, organizing patients charts, computer work, etc., but every dayis a little different. I've learned a lot, and I've been able to share some insights of my own with the therapists about the patients that they hadn't thought of. (That was a very poorly constructed sentence, but oh well. :) )
I started school on Monday, and so far I think it's going to be pretty good. Both my psuch classes are fun, my nutrition class is really interesting, and although my English class isn't going to be much of a challenge, the teacher is really hot. Always a plus. :)
That's about it. Nikki, how are rehearsals going?

Katrina Donation Links

Here are some links I gathered from the fema site. There is also a site to rescue the animals left behind.
